The things people actually ask before buying a chandelier.
What size chandelier do I need?
A classic guide: add your room length and width in metres, and that sum in tens of centimetres is a good diameter (a 4m by 5m room is about 90cm). Over a dining table, aim for the fixture to be about half to two-thirds the table width.
How high should a chandelier hang?
In a living space, leave at least 210cm of clearance from the floor. Over a dining table, hang the bottom roughly 75 to 90cm above the tabletop so it lights the table without blocking sightlines.
Can I adjust the hanging height?
Yes. Our chandeliers come with an adjustable chain, rod or cord that can be shortened at installation, so the drop is right for your ceiling, standard or high.
Are bulbs included?
Most chandeliers ship with their warm-white LED bulbs included, so they are ready to hang and glow. The fitting type and number of bulbs are listed on each product page.
How many bulbs or arms should a chandelier have?
It is about scale as much as light: a larger room carries a wider, multi-arm piece, while a compact room suits a smaller cluster. For flexible brightness, choose a chandelier with several warm LEDs on a dimmer.
Do I need a special ceiling fixing?
Chandeliers are heavier than a basic light, so they must be mounted to a secure ceiling point or joist. We include the mounting hardware; for heavier pieces have an electrician confirm the fixing.
Are chandeliers dimmable?
Most are, with a compatible dimmable bulb and dimmer switch, and we ship dimmable warm-white LEDs where bulbs are included. Dimming is the easiest way to shift from bright dinners to relaxed evenings.
What is the difference between a chandelier and a pendant?
A pendant is usually a single shade on a cord, while a chandelier is a larger, often multi-light statement piece. Chandeliers anchor a room and spread light wider, which is why they suit dining rooms, stairwells and entryways.
